Making P2P mobile payments a reality
News last week that Nokia is to launch a financial services offering enabling peer-to-peer mobile payments has many in the banking industry talking.
The move is probably a greater threat to Western Union than it it to large banks, but it will push banks to more seriously consider the peer-to-peer payments market.
Closer to home, ANZ is already operating in the mobile payments market via its WING business in Cambodia.
Last month we caught up with Brad Jones who has overseen the launch of what is essentially a new payments scheme running on a mobile platform in Cambodia.
In this 15 minute interview we discuss the challenges of the project, the learnings ANZ has received from entering the mobile payments market, and Brad’s thoughts on the future for mobile payments.

Great interview! No doubt it will be interesting to follow how schemes such as WING will progress in the future.
Working with competitor monitoring within mBanking I can just agree with Brad Jones comment that the Iphone really has taken mBanking quite a few steps forward.
