Switch hitters
Australia has not seen the level of switch marketing from banks wanting to grow their current account portfolio that has been seen in other western countries.
Leading up to the introduction of the Federal Government’s bank switching package in November 2008 Treasurer Wayne Swan said the package would empower customers to “pass their judgement to their banks,” change banks and “put them under competitive pressure”.
